The fountain pen emoji is very similar – sometimes identical – to the black nib emoji except that it shows not just the nib but also the complete barrel – the handle – of the pen too. The barrel is invariably a dark color – either black, gray or navy – while Emojidex uses a classic, old style, wooden effect handle. The emoji is versatile and can be used in almost any context which refers to writing or written communication. The nibbed pen has a close association with handwriting and calligraphy and can be used when talking about creative or artistic projects too. It can be used to say “I’m writing to you now!” even when you are sending a message or email electronically.
